How to plan a Colombian folk dance show for your event
What to decide before booking a Colombian folk dance show: the date, the space, the moment in the party and how to get your guests dancing.

A Colombian dance show changes the mood of a party in a few minutes. The polleras spin, the flag comes out and suddenly nobody is looking at their phone. It goes smoother if you settle a few things before you reach out.
1. The date, and how busy it is
September and October are Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15), and July brings July 20, Colombia’s Independence Day. December is party season. If your date falls in those weeks, book early.
2. The moment in the party
Think about when you want the show:
- At the start, to welcome guests or the couple with color.
- Before the dancing, to light up the floor.
- As a surprise, halfway through, when the energy dips.
At weddings and quinceañeras, right after dinner is often a good moment.
3. The space
Polleras need room to spin. A firm, clear floor is ideal, with no cables or drinks nearby. It can be a ballroom, a patio, a stage or festival grass. Tell us the venue and we’ll tell you how to set it up.
4. Music and sound
Ask the venue whether there is a sound system and who runs it. If you have a DJ, tell us so we can coordinate the show music with them.
5. Getting your guests dancing
A great way to finish is bringing people onto the floor. If you like the idea, mention it in your request and we’ll plan for it.
