About us

Colombian traditions, alive in Houston

Latin culture is vibrant and full of passion. ColombiArte dances so these living traditions reach the next generation.

Who we are

ColombiArte is a Colombian folk dance group from the Houston area, led by Diana and Victor. We dance in the costumes of Colombia’s different regions: the spinning pollera, the sombrero vueltiao, the scarf and the flag.

We perform at celebrations of the Consulate of Colombia in Houston, at City Hall, at festivals like the Hispanic Trails Cultural Festival in San Antonio, at local Colombian restaurants and at weddings.

Why we do it

Because a tradition that isn’t danced gets forgotten. Every show is a way for kids growing up here to learn where their families come from, and for anyone new to Colombia to feel it up close.

Colombian roots, Texas heart

We dance Colombia’s traditions in the place we now call home. Houston opened its doors to us, and every show is also a thank-you to Texas.
